May 11-12, 2018 Stone Tool Technologies Workshop: Two-day course designed to introduce students the use of stone tools and the creation of them in a survival or primitive living environment. Stones are one of the most highly overlooked survival resources, but can provide many advantages when a knife, axe or hatchet is not available. The first day of the workshop will discuss, demonstrate and allow students to use stone tools like microliths, hand blades, hand axes, daggers, scrappers and drills to produce and number of survival resources. Day two students will create lithic tool kits based on the knowledge they gained the first day using the simple stone tools. Students will have personal instruction covering the core fundamentals of flintknapping and troubleshooting procedures when working difficult stone. Students will walk away from this course with pressure flaking kits used to make hunting points, hand blades, microliths and all stone tools created. All materials provided, $295 per person. May 19, 2018 Art of Fire Workshop: One day workshop that will teach every student the tools and methodologies in primitive survival fire making to modern survival fire making. Additionally, the workshop will address what it takes to carry fire over great distances, protecting fire from the elements in a survival situation and use fire as a tool to make countless survival resource. Every student will leave more competent in their fire making abilities, with a deeper connection the to the fire making resources around them and one of a kind primitive fire making kit. All materials provided. $65 Per Student. 9am-5pm, Snow Creek Ranch Larkspur Colorado.
May 20, 2018 Flintknapping Workshop: One day workshop designed to teach students the foundation stones of lithic reduction or flintknapping. Students will have personal instruction covering the core fundamentals and troubleshooting procedures when working stone. Students will walk away from this course with pressure flaking kits used to make hunting points, hand blades, microliths and all stone tools created. A portion of the course will be on the utilization of stone tools to better understand the creation of them. This is a great workshop to introduce survivalists, bushcrafters, primitive practitioners and artist to one of the oldest art forms to have ever existed. All materials provided. $150 per person. 9am-5pm, Snow Creek Ranch Larkspur Colorado.
Paleo Tracks Survival Skills Workshops - $110.00 per person (8hrs). Workshops are designed to introduce and establish students with basic survival skills. Skills covered: friction fire, shelter building, primitive weapons (stone sling, atlatl, rabbit sticks, archery), trapping, navigation, wild edibles, water collection/purification, flintknapping and many more. Paleo Tracks 24 Hour Survival Experience - $200.00 per person. A excellent weekend adventure and experience! Course is designed to introduce key survival skills and utilize them during a 24 hour window consisting of a night in the wild. Great way to test oneself and see if you have what it takes to survive. Skills covered: Shelter building, friction fire, wild edibles, trapping, water collection/purification, flintknapping and many more. Great for one on one or group skill building. Paleo Tracks Survival 72 Hour Emergency Course - $750.00 per person. The 72 Hour Emergency Course is a must have for any hunter, hiker, backpacker, mountain biker or anyone who ventures into the wilds. This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to stay alive during a 72 hour emergency window...they typical amount of time for a SAR (Search And Rescue) element to locate a lost person. This course teaches survival priorities like shelter, water, fire, signal, food, navigation, safety and health. This course utilizes "you" and your typical occurrences. If you are a hiker and typically bring a small pack with water, socks, rain jacket, pocket knife and small first aid kit...well that is exactly what you will use to stay alive for 72 hours . If you are a mountain biker and typical bring a extra bike tire, tire pump, hydration pack and the close on your back...time to survive. Many tasks are executed with simulated wounds or "problems" providing circumstances for the survival situation. Do not overlook this course as it can and will save your life. Three (3) Day Paleo Track - $750.00 per person: The 3PT (3-day Paleo Track) focuses on the key components of primitive survival/primitive living in the wilderness. Building simplistic on the go shelters, finding and purifying water, building fires, locating and harvesting food (animal/plant/insects) and making primitive stone/bone tools is the goal. The 3PT introduces students to the use of primitive tools and has minimalistic/primitive focus in most applications. Additional primitive skills are covered, but the emphasis is on shelter, water, fire, food. This course is held overnight.
Five (5) Day Paleo Track - $1300.00 per person: The 5PT (5-day Paleo Track) is the first step in understanding and becoming a hunter, gatherer and scavenger. Students will use and create simple stone tools (hand axes and arrow/spear points) during this course. The class will provide a deeper consideration into passive and active food procurement (2-5 mile movements), fire making, long term shelters, long term water plans and really start living in the environment . Additional primitive living skills are covered, but the emphasis is on shelter, water, fire, food and the applications of long term living in the wilds. This course will challenge students and push them into the emotional and physical challenges of what our early ancestors endured in their day to day lives. This course is held overnight.
Ten (10) Day Paleo Track - $2500.00 per person: The 10PT (10-day Paleo Track) shows students what the lifestyle of a true hunter, gatherer and scavenger is like. The creation, use and reuse of stone tools is a key component of the 10PT. Student will endure long range (8-10 mile) movements in the procurement of food and resources, days of little or no food, living within a primitive hunter gatherer community/group and the long-term fundamentals of survival. This course will challenge students and push them into the emotional and physical challenges of what our early ancestors endured beyond the day to day life. It is recommended that students attending the 10PT have previously attended the 5PT or the 3PT. This creates a foundation of understanding and application. Additional survival skills are covered, but the emphasis is on shelter, water, fire, food and the applications of long term living in the wilds. Paleo Tracks Survival requires that all 10PT and course attendees undergo a complete physical examination and receive their physician’s approval in writing prior to attending the courses. Minimum age to attend is 18 years old. This course is held overnight.
